College of Community Innovation and Education Toni Jennings Exceptional Education Institute:

Toni Jennings Exceptional Education Institute (TJEEI) is dedicated to preparing and retaining exceptional student education teachers and related professional educators who serve children and adults with special needs. In collaboration with Central Florida partners, TJEEI provides families of children with disabilities, UCF faculty and students, and educators access to current information, resources and opportunities. Through teaching and research clinics, UCF faculty and students associated with the institute offer services to students with disabilities and their families focused on assessment, behavior, reading, mathematics and community counseling.

The Opportunity:

The UCF College of Community Innovation and Education Toni Jennings Exceptional Education Institute is accepting applications for an Administrative Assistant III. This position is responsible to the Director of the Toni Jennings Exceptional Education Institute and to the Director of the Lockheed Martin (LM)/UCF Mathematics and Science Academy. This position provides direct administrative support to the programs, initiatives, and partnerships overseen by these two directors.

This is a Contract and Grant (C&G) funded position. Employment is subject to availability of funding and may cease at the time funding for this employment is depleted.

Responsibilities:

  • Support TJEEI staff with grant, partnership, and initiative communications.

  • Connect TJEEI resources with partner constituents to increase student services and research outcomes.

  • Assist TJEEI leadership in the day-to-day operations of ongoing projects.

  • Support planning and coordination of project development in TJEEI.

  • LM/UCF Mathematics and Science Academy: Responsible for processing budget activities such as but not limited to invoices, tuition payments, third party payments, and classroom enhancement grants.

  • Compile records and maintain information related to budget, website and PR, travel, documentation, supplies, etc.

  • Assist/support LM/UCF Mathematics and Science Academy director and program coordinators with application review, recruitment and registration, programs of study, graduation documentation, orientations, coordinating events, course schedules, etc.

  • Responsible for responding to questions and collecting, compiling, and maintaining information needed for evaluation and foundation reports for the Lockheed Martin/UCF Mathematics and Science Academy.

  • Responsible for maintaining Mathematics and Science Scholar (student) databases, evaluation reports, and foundation reports for both the K-8 Mathematics and Science Master’s Program and TMAST via email, phone and in-person as needed.

  • Other duties as assigned to help advance the vision, mission, and goals of the TJEEI.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or Equivalent and 4+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Click here for more information

Preferred Qualifications:

  • History of supporting grant and development initiatives.

  • Supporting large complex teams.

  • Experience working with diverse stakeholders including K-12 school districts.

  • Experience coordinating events, schedules, expenditures, travel, and application review.

Additional Requirements related to Research Positions:
