The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for Administrative Assistant 4, Law School Student Services.
ROLE of the POSITION
The Administrative Assistant 4 for the William S. Boyd School of Law at UNLV, provides a high level of administrative support, budget preparation and tracking, and personnel support to all areas of the Law School's Student Services department, Associate Dean of Student Affairs and the Assistant Dean of Career Development, faculty, staff and students. The work schedule is MONDAY TO FRIDAY 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.
This requires analytical and critical thinking to determine appropriate action for a professional Student Services office. These duties include but are not limited to compiling and storing data, updating department statistics, assisting in the completion of forms and reports, creating memos, overseeing the department schedule, travel documents, supplier invoice requests, and other expense reports. The Administrative Assistant IV carries out all aspects of the law school's J.D. and LL.M. student services office to implement and manage necessary procedures and upgrades to the My Boyd Law Portal and Symplicity management database and accompanying reporting tools; to counsel, advise current student and to coordinate recruitment travel.
Administrative Assistant 4 stands available to the Student Affairs and Career Development Office responsibilities that may arise when the Associate Dean and Assistant Dean are otherwise occupied; and to carry out other administrative duties as assigned by Assistant/Associate Deans.

Through its J.D. curriculum, students can pursue academic concentrations in Business and Commercial Law, Dispute Resolution, Health Law, Intellectual Property, and Workplace and Employment Law. The law school is located at the heart of the UNLV campus. UNLV is an R1 research university that is among the most diverse campuses in the nation and is also the state's largest comprehensive doctoral degree granting institution with Schools of Business, Dental Medicine, Engineering, Hospitality, Medicine, Nursing, and Public Health, among many others.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Graduation from high school or equivalent education and four years of progressively responsible relevant work experience which included experience in one or more of the following areas: providing administrative/program support to professional staff and management; performing secretarial duties in support of a manager; coordinating communications between the manager, staff and program clientele; supervision of subordinate staff; researching information from internal and external sources; OR one year of experience as an Administrative Assistant III in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.

SALARY
Grade 29 Step 1, salary 50,153.76. "Step" means the number assigned by the Division of Human Resource Management to identify a specific rate of pay within a grade. Per Nevada Administrative Code (NAC 284.170), salaries for initial appointments for classified positions typically begin at Step 1.
