Position Summary
This administrative position’s purpose is to support the mission of the department of Health Sciences to improve the quality and accessibility of health care for the people of NC, and the world, through exemplary teaching innovative research and patient- centered clinical practice. Work includes managing, administering, directing, and supporting clinical education within the Department of Health Sciences. Clinical education experiences are an integral component of professional preparation. In the clinical setting students have the opportunity to apply academic knowledge and skills in real-life patient situations and to develop professionally under the supervision of qualified therapists. This position requires the ability to be proactive in client-based customer service. Excellence in Customer Service is crucial to developing and maintaining effective working relationships with sites so that our department can maintain clinical rotations and compete with other higher education programs within and outside NC. This position will be the Clinical Education support for the department and help with coordinating special events for clinical education.
Flexible work arrangements, including virtual/hybrid work locations, are an integral part of the School of Medicine’s Working Forward initiative. As such, this position’s work location is designated as hybrid. Please note that the designated work location is subject to change based on the unit’s business needs.
Some travel, weekday or off business hours may be required for events.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
High school diploma or equivalency and one year of related office experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Microsoft (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) Skills are required. Including experience with Zoom and Qualtrics. Previous administrative or office management experience in Student Services or related field. This position must be able to work independently and have experience demonstrating strong teamwork skills, successful time management, and organization. This position requires the use of multiple dataset programs (example: Access, PeopleSoft, CastleBranch, other similar programs). In addition, this position requires integrating various software applications for records retrieval.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Preferred knowledge within any STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) field or reading clinical education records such as Immunizations, etc. Familiarity with HIPPA, OSHA, and other clinical requirements to work in healthcare.
