THIS IS A TIME LIMITED POSITION
This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement that may include a partially remote work location, consistent with System Office policy. UNC Chapel Hill employees are generally required to reside within a reasonable commuting distance of their assigned duty station.
The Administrative Support Associate role is designed to primarily support the Moore Undergraduate Research Apprentice Program (MURAP) and Students Learning to Advance Truth & Equity (SLATE). MURAP (established 1996) seeks to increase the number of individuals holding faculty positions within the academy. The program recruits 20 students annually (typically 10 weeks during the summer), where they conduct research, receive training, and participate in other development activities to prepare them for success in graduate school. SLATE (founded 2019) is an undergraduate education program established in response to ongoing concerns about how students are prepared to navigate the complex world in which we live. Students involved in SLATE activities participate in unique research and learning experiences, designed to strengthen their grasp on the realities of negotiating the complexities of our world as global citizens.
The Administrative Support Associate contributes to the administration of wide-ranging internal and external functions including correspondence and communications, event coordination, budget management, webpage maintenance, and outreach. The Administrative Support Associate is responsible for managing the administrative, programming, communication, and outreach needs for the programs to maintain their success and support the faculty and students within them.

Education and Experience:


High school diploma or equivalency; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.
