Department Description
The Institute for Psychedelics and Neurotherapeutics is a new joint venture supported by the College of Letters and Science, the School of Medicine, the provost, and the vice chancellor for research. The goal of the IPN is to advance our understanding of the basic neurobiology of psychedelics and translate this knowledge into safe and effective therapeutics for treating neuropsychiatric and neurodegenerative diseases. The IPN is administratively housed in the College of Letters and Science and is affiliated with the Department of Chemistry. This position will report to the Chief Administrative Officer of the Department of Chemistry.
Job Summary
Administer communications as well as daily administrative and financial operations for the Institute for Psychedelic Neurotherapeutics (IPN), under guidance of the Institute Director. This position provides a broad range of operational support including: newsletter, social media and website management, data analysis, scheduling, meeting and event planning, pilot grant administration, travel planning, grant writing support, and budget coordination. Works with faculty and staff to achieve the goals of the institute. This job can be done on a hybrid schedule with some work performed on site and some work done off site with the possibility of a flexible schedule as well.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Physical Demands: Sit or stand at desk for long periods of time. Ability to travel to multiple sites, and various locations across California to provide oversight of project and support various communication strategies and events.
  • Lifting Requirements: Ability to lift 40 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Work is primarily 8 to 5 PM, but may require some evenings, weekends, and/or holidays to meet operational needs.
  • Vacation leave coordinated around busy periods.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
    Minimum Education/Experience:
  • Experience with social media and editing websites.
  • Experience managing dynamic electronic calendars, and scheduling and coordinating meetings.
  • Experience working with budgets.
  • Experience analyzing and compiling data and reports.
    Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA):
  • Writing, editing, and proofreading skills to produce written materials that reflect the standards and professionalism of an executive office.
  • Demonstrated organization skills with strong attention to detail and ability to work independently while juggling multiple priorities.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills to work with a variety of constituents.
    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
    Preferred Education/Experience:
  • 4-year college degree.
    Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA):
  • Graphic design skills.
  • Web design skills.
  • Basic knowledge about psychedelic science and the development of neurotherapeutics.
