Position Summary
Bryant University, a nationally recognized leader in higher education, is currently recruiting for Adjunct teaching opportunities in our Department of History, Literature, and the Arts for the Fall 2024 semester. Classes meet at our campus in Smithfield, RI. The fall semester runs from Tuesday, September 3rd through Wednesday, December 11th.
We are seeking adjunct faculty to teach the following course:
GEN 106 – Writing Workshop – In the Writing Workshop, students will engage collaboratively as a community of writers, emphasizing the dynamic nature of writing as a process to produce substantial, highly polished writing projects. This course is designed not only to improve students’ writing skills but also to enhance their understanding of writing’s impact in real-world contexts. Through inquiry, revision, and reflection, students will explore the potential of writing for social impact and change. Students will engage with the conventions of different rhetorical situations while exploring diverse genres, modes, and texts to develop their unique voices and perspectives. Writing Workshop cultivates creativity and critical engagement with the world through writing.

Principal Accountabilities
This position includes teaching at the undergraduate level as well as contributing to student growth and development through active involvement in student related co-curricular activities.
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in a related field.
  • College level teaching experience preferred.
  • Based on University procedures, adjunct faculty are typically limited to teaching no more than two classes per semester.
