Job Summary/Basic Function:
Adjunct Instructors are hired in a part-time capacity on an as needed basis. These positions are filled prior to or during each semester and are contingent upon the needs of the College.
Brazosport College accepts application materials for pool positions on a continuing basis throughout the year from qualified applicants willing to teach on a part-time basis.
Academic departments will contact potential applicants when there are available openings.
Job duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Reports to the Division Chair of Physical Sciences and Process Technologies


  • Teaches safety, health, and environmental management classes using traditional and alternative delivery methods


  • *CCPI

College benefits do not accrue with this part-time position.
Physical Demands:
Standing, sitting, walking, carrying, handling, fine dexterity, vision, hearing, talking; ability to drive to off campus locations.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Safety, Health, and Environmental Management from a regionally accredited college or university

  • If the applicant has an Associate’s degree, he or she must also have a minimum of three years working as a safety director or primary responsibilities for safety (in an industrial setting desirable); Interest in alternative instructional delivery methods

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Other qualities, experiences, and skills that enhance one’s value to the institution

  • Exceptional employment or educational qualifications may be given special consideration

Desirable Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or master’s degree desirable in Environmental Safety or a closely related field (e.g., industrial engineering, environmental science, or chemistry)

  • For applicants with an Associate’s Degree in Safety, Health, and Environmental Management, is is a requirement to provide an Employer Letter(s) of Verification documenting a minimum of three (3) years of non-teaching wage earning experience in the occupational field is/are required. Multiple letters must be submitted if employment with one employer does not total three (3) years. Letters must be on company letterhead.
