Position Summary
Bryant University, a nationally recognized leader in higher education, is currently recruiting for an adjunct teaching opportunity in the School of Health and Behavioral Sciences for Summer 2024. Classes meet at our campus in Smithfield, RI. The summer semester runs from May 20, 2024 – August 8, 2024.
We are seeking an adjunct faculty member to teach the following section:
HS 520 – Healthcare Law, Privacy, and Ethics – Mondays – 1 – 4:30 pm
In this course, students are provided opportunities to learn and apply knowledge of legal and ethical expectations on healthcare organizations and behaviors. Students are introduced to the major laws, regulations, professional and ethical principles, and industry standards governing health care structure, delivery, and reimbursement, as applied in health services management. Students will evaluate current healthcare issues and how health reform will affect healthcare organizations.
The School of Health and Behavioral Sciences currently offers undergraduate majors in Biology, Psychology, Health Sciences, and Healthcare Analytics, as well as graduate programs in Physician Assistant Studies, and Healthcare Informatics. Our dedicated faculty and quality facilities prepare students for science-related careers and graduate studies. We emphasize basic and applied research, technological applications, and international experiences so students not only accumulate knowledge, but also develop the commitment and desire to apply what they learn in the world. Principal Accountabilities
This position includes teaching at the graduate level as well as contributing to student growth and development through active involvement within the school and university.
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in a related field.
  • Teaching experience preferred.


Based on University procedures, adjunct faculty are typically limited to teaching no more than two classes per semester.
