Job Summary/Basic Function:
Adjunct Instructors are hired in a part-time capacity on an as needed basis. These positions are filled prior to or during each semester and are contingent upon the needs of the College. 
  
 
Brazosport College accepts application materials for pool positions on a continuing basis throughout the year from qualified applicants willing to teach on a part-time basis. 
  
 
Academic departments will contact potential applicants when there are available openings. 
  
 
Job duties include, but are not limited to: 
 
 
 

  • Reports to the Division Chair of Social Sciences and Business

 

  • Teaches online course(s) in one of the following disciplines: Economics, Government/Political Science, History, Humanities, Psychology, Philosophy, and/or Sociology

  
 
College benefits do not accrue with this part-time position.

Standing, sitting, walking, carrying, handling, fine dexterity, vision, hearing, talking; ability to drive to off campus locations;
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Minimum of a Master’s Degree in Government/Political Science, History, Humanities, Psychology, Philosophy, or Sociology or a master’s degree with a minimum of eighteen (18) graduate hours in Government/Political Science, History, Humanities, Psychology, Philosophy, and/or Sociology from a regionally accredited college or university

  • Experience developing and delivering online courses; training in, and application of, online instruction standards such as SBEC or the North American Council for Online Learning

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Other qualities, experiences, and skills that enhance one’s value to the institution

  • Exceptional employment or educational qualifications may be given special consideration; as long as Southern Association (SACS) minimum educational credentials are met
