Position Summary
This is an adjunct appointment with the Division of Healthcare Engineering (DHE), Department of Radiation Oncology – School of Medicine (SOM), at the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill. In this position, the candidate will provide oversight to the experiential training opportunities incorporating virtual reality (VR) and various forms of simulation focused on patient safety, quality, and the overall well-being of healthcare providers.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Required qualifications include:
* Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Journalism/Communications, Digital Media, Film Production, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
* Proficiency in operating VR equipment and software, including cameras, headsets, editing tools, and 3D modeling/rendering.
* Proven experience as a Virtual Reality Video Production Specialist or similar role, with a strong portfolio showcasing VR video projects.
* Solid understanding of video production principles, storytelling techniques, and visual aesthetics.
* Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate ideas clearly.
* Strong attention to detail, time management skills, and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
The successful candidate is expected to work closely with other production experts, including graphic designers, animators, and sound engineers, to deliver integrated and polished VR experiences.
