Job Description:

Adjunct instructor needed to teach Introduction to Forensic Science (SCI 170) for the Fall 2024 semester, August 26, 2024 - December 13, 2024. Classes will be held on campus in Burlington, Vermont. Applicants should live within commuting distance of the Burlington, VT campus.  Meeting times are: Tuesdays and Fridays 1:00 pm - 2:15 pm and Tuesdays (labs) 2:30 - 4:30 pm.

In this course students learn the biology, genetics, chemistry and physics involved in the forensic investigation of crimes. A wide range of topics are studied including DNA, entomology, fingerprinting, trace evidence, serology (blood, saliva, and semen) blood spatter, and chemical analysis of drugs, alcohol, and other compounds. Laboratory sessions are designed to reinforce, by a hands-on approach, the principles discussed in lecture. This course includes two laboratory hours per week.


Requirements:

Master's degree in Biology or a related field, PhD preferred.

Experience teaching college level science courses and experience with an online learning management system, preferred.
