Job Description:

The Bellarmine University Economics program seeks a part-time adjunct faculty member, who will teach Law & Economics. The class is to be offered in person from 6:00 to 7:15 on Tuesday and Thursday from August 22nd to December 3rd the fall of 2024 with a final exam the week following December 3rd. The course description is as follows: "Economic analysis is used to evaluate laws and legal institutions. It provides a scientific analysis of how legal constraints shape household and firm behavior. This course examines the importance of economics in the development of laws, and in analyzing the effect of laws on the efficient allocation of resources. Depending upon the semester, the course may examine a broad variety of topics or focus on an in-depth analysis of a few timely issues." The successful candidate will perform tasks designed to ensure the quality and consistency of academic instruction.


Requirements:

A minimum M.S. or M.A. in economics or related field (with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in economics).  Applicants must exhibit a strong commitment to excellence in teaching undergraduate Economics courses. The teaching load will be three credit hours in the fall semester of 2024 but there is a possibility to renew in the future. Contracts are issued on a semester by semester basis.
