Adjunct Faculty-Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Instructional Design Leadership

Franklin University, located in Columbus, Ohio, is seeking part-time adjunct faculty to teach doctoral and master’s level instructional design courses as well as to perform dissertation committee services.

The doctoral level courses are housed under our Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Instructional Design Leadership program.  Courses include Strategic Examination of Trends & Technology, Strategic Assessment & Decision Making, Organizational Learning & Knowledge Management, Course Design, Development & Evaluation, Innovative Learning Environment Design and Instructional Design Leadership, Coaching & Consulting. These 8-week courses will be taught online each term and may possibly also be offered face-to-face on our downtown campus in Columbus, Ohio.

The master’s level courses are housed under our Master of Science in Instructional Design and Learning Technology program. Courses include Foundations of Instructional Design, Principles of Human Performance Technology, Enhancing Learning with Technology, Project and Relationship Management, Evaluation, Learning Management Systems, and Advanced Instructional Design and Learning Technology.

Requirements for these positions include an earned doctorate in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, Instructional Systems Design, Educational Technology, or Curriculum and Instruction.

For teaching positions:  A minimum of 3 years’ experience is required for teaching in higher education or a PK-12 environment doing instructional design, training, or consulting work, having curriculum design and development experience, leading instructional design projects, and have familiarity or experience with modern educational technologies such as artificial intelligence. Excellent teaching evaluations are also required.
For dissertation committee service positions:  A minimum of three years’ experience serving on dissertation committees or having chaired dissertation committees is required.  This person may also be required to grade comprehensive exams on short notice and be able to serve as a subject matter expert to review dissertations in field.
