The University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) is currently accepting resumes for adjunct faculty in the Department of Physician Assistant in the areas of Clinical Medicine (cardiology, pulmonology, ophthalmology, and otolaryngology), Public Health, Infectious Disease, Pathophysiology, Clinical Problem Solving, Diagnostic Tests, Interpreting Research & Literature, and History and Physical Examination. Resumes will be reviewed as needed for each semester on a continual basis.

Responsibilities

The PA Department is seeking experienced professionals who would like the opportunity to teach and share their knowledge and professional skills. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

If a Physician, a MD/DO is required from an accredited school of medicine, board certified and licensed in the state of Maryland, Delaware, or Virginia. If a PA, a Master’s degree is preferred, but candidates with a bachelor’s degree will be given consideration. Current NCCPA certification, possession of, or eligibility for licensure and registration to practice in Maryland, Delaware, or Virginia is required. The candidate should have no less than 5-year experience as a clinical physician assistant. Prior teaching experience or five years of clinical practice/work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Two years of teaching experience in a university setting and knowledge of instructional technology.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

A commitment to teaching a diverse population of undergraduate students at the university level. Must possess excellent communication skills (verbal and written); ability to work well with students, faculty, and staff; ability to work in a multi-ethnic/multi-cultural environment; and ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evening lecture presentation or activities as required. Teaching experience is a plus.
