Responsibilities:
The Department of Counseling and Special Education's Counseling Program, in the College of Education, invites expressions of interest for part-time faculty teaching opportunities, for the 2018-19 Academic Year. Part-time teaching positions are available throughout the academic year, including summer sessions. Applicants with expertise that matches course scheduling needs will be contacted for an interview. Academic course schedules fluctuate from quarter to quarter and selected individuals will work with program faculty to determine a quarterly schedule. Courses are not guaranteed; however the Department does its best to give ample notice about available courses and potential course cancellations.
The Counseling Program seeks applicants with expertise and experience in the following areas:
- Counseling
- College Counseling and Student Affairs
- School Counseling
The candidate must have demonstrated experience in working in teaching in an diverse learning environment.
Required Qualifications:
Applicants must have a Master's degree. Some courses may require a Doctorate degree. Applicants applying for opportunities in the School Counseling Program must have Professional Educator's License, School Counselor (formerly Type 73). Applicants applying for opportunities in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program should be an Illinois Professional Licensed Counselor (LCPC) or hold an equivalent license. The following Supplemental Questions pertain to applicants' expertise in Counseling, College Counseling and Student Affairs or School Counseling.
