Job Summary
The Mathematics Department in the College of Science, the University of Texas at Arlington, invites applications for a part-time, Adjunct Assistant Professor.
The number of vacancies is dependent on student enrollment, division needs, and dean approval. Positions are available for both on campus and online teaching. Your application cannot be considered complete until all required documents have been received. Adjunct faculty plans classes and implements and evaluates teaching/learning objectives and student learning outcomes. Adjunct faculty undertakes the divisional and professional responsibilities of a part-time faculty member, including office hours. The successful applicant will be expected to provide quality instruction in undergraduate Mathematics courses matching the instructor’s background, education, and skills. The successful applicant will be expected to provide instruction in a full range of Mathematics courses, including, but not limited to, Contemporary Mathematics, College Algebra, Trigonometry, Elementary Statistical Analysis, Business Algebra, Business Calculus, Preparation for Calculus, Calculus, and Linear Algebra. Adjunct faculty members will be required to use certain texts and meet certain parameters set by the Department of Mathematics. Adjunct instructors will be required to include in their courses certain student assessment measures determined by the department, and to compile data on those assessment criteria.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • The successful candidate will be expected to achieve excellence in teaching and to assist in further development of the Mathematics program.

Required Qualifications
A Master’s Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field with at least 18 graduate hours in Mathematics and outstanding experience in teaching lower-division math courses.
Preferred Qualifications
Ph.D./Ed.D. in Math Education, Mathematics, or Statistics, including 18 graduate hours in Mathematics with significant experience in Education.

The Department of Mathematics is a major center for mathematics research and education in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex and North Texas.
