Position Summary

Organization: Women's Housing Coalition

Location: 3005 San Pedro NE  Albuquerque, NM  87110

An Off-Campus Work-Study Position MUST have a Work-Study Award

The Women’s Housing Coalition is a non-profit organization that provides housing for single women with children who are motivated to become self-sufficient. We are a small organization with 21 rental units rented for below market rate rents.  We do not receive state or federal funding for operating.  We do however do a lot of local fundraising.

Responsibilities
Maintains accounting ledger; prepare monthly financial statements and reports; reconciliation and analysis of general ledger accounts; and prepares special reports for the following areas, Accounts Payable, Payroll, Accounts Receivable, and Grants Administration.
Every duty is applicable to these areas: Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Fixed Assets and Grants Administration
Prepares general ledger journal entries, profit and Loss, and balance sheet reports for the Board of Directors to review and approve as necessary.
Prepare bi-weekly payroll checks and submit required tax reports for 4 employees in a timely manner
Review and prepare prior tax reports if needed.
Prepare Annual reports, such as 990 forms for last year and submit reports to Attorney General’s office and other agencies as necessary
Clean up quick books to simplify and utilize all Quick Books features
Review booking procedures and recommend changes
Other duties as assigned by the Director

Minimum Qualifications

Enrolled in a degree seeking program at UNM, Enrolled at least half-time (6 hours) at UNM for fall and spring semesters (Audit hours do not count), and if Work Study, you must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress.

Preferred Qualifications

Qualifications
Must be proficient in QuickBooks, Microsoft Word, and Excel
Knowledge of general accounting and fund accounting procedures
Ability to analyze and develop timelines for tax reports
Ability to be flexible and move from one task to another easily.
Must have strong attention to detail
Must be fluent in English
A valid driver’s license is required and must pass a background check
