Position Summary:

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking an Accounting Assistant for the Division of Institutional Planning & Operations (IP&O).
Among the key duties of this position are the following:

• Processes various financial documents and data.
• Analyzes data and prepares internal financial reports consistent with a basic understanding of the mission, vision, role and goals of the Business Unit and the tasks and responsibilities of the Accounting Assistant I with respect to achieving business unit goals.
• Works under direct supervision, with specific instructions on routine or semi-routine work and established work parameters for the unit.
• Work is usually reviewed upon completion.
• Performs professional work requiring knowledge of general accounting principles and practices and the basic application and use of concepts, theories and terminology of accounting.

Minimum Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• A minimum of two (2) years of experience that demonstrates knowledge and understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and practices.
