JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The Penn State World Campus Bursar Office is searching for an Accounting Assistant 4 to work directly with our online students and third-party payers. A successful candidate must be passionate about assisting students by phone and email in a fast-paced environment. This position is primarily responsible for providing professional correspondence regarding student accounts, tuition invoices, veteran’s benefits, military tuition assistance, and student financial aid. Candidate must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to manage multiple priorities. Attention to detail and proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of applications is also required.
Additional Responsibilities Include:
- Set up third-party billing arrangements in online system (LionPATH), manage third-party billing relationships, and submit invoices to third-party payers
- Analyze both student and corporate accounts for accuracy and completeness
- Work with others to resolve complex student financial account issues
- Preform various account reconciliations
- Contribute to student retention efforts
- Recommend and develop new customer service initiatives
This position typically required an Associate’s Degree and 2 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Financial customer service experience is highly desirable.
