We are currently seeking a full-time Account Clerk in our Bursar’s office. This position responsible for collection of payments from stakeholders, provide excellent customer service while performing research and account analysis to answer inquiries and post charges. The pay for this position is $14.96/hr.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide excellent customer service while analyzing account balances, investigating account discrepancies, and reviewing accounts for personal fund payments or financial aid disbursements.
  • Review student accounts to identify incorrect payments, resolve discrepancies and make corrections.
  • Interpret financial aid policies/recovery procedures and bursar policies/procedures.
  • Review interaction of Federal, State, University of outside aid and prepare or request adjustments to student’s account when necessary.
  • Approve students’ eligibility for payment plans and hold options on student accounts.
  • Prepare cashier checkouts, audit transactions, resolve discrepancies, and make necessary corrections to ensure balancing.
  • This position may require extended office hours during peak times with occasional weekend hours required for Special Events.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • At least 2 years customer service experience in cashiering, cash handling/collection, and reconciliation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills including spreadsheets and data entry.
  • Ability to listen to customer needs and ask questions to understand concerns and offer solutions.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Call center experience, experience with web-based applications, and account receivable experience.
  • Excel computer skills.
  • Experience with web-based applications.
