Position Information
Assist PI in the organization, planning, review, set up, and execution of multiple programs. Programs will range from VR Lab/Astro programs/High school programs/python programming. The program consists of different components. The job duties include: (1). attracting students from different schools and school districts; (2). Selecting and recruiting students; (3). Overall and day-to-day management of the program and student activities; (4). managing hands-on experience and field trips (that include student parents); (5). organization and implementation of courses and workshops; (6). Communication with school districts and schools; (7). Assistance in course preparation and, in some cases leading course preparation and delivery; (8). Evaluation of the program by setting up questions for students at the end of each component of the program. Apart from the above, there are specific duties associated with different components of the program, listed for each component as follows: Python Programming: Organizes the lectures, handles exercises and solutions, monitors student progress and learning, compiles lecture notes, and prepares for distribution to students, leads development of the course to form a new colloquium at high schools. Data Analytics: Organizes the lectures, handles exercises and solutions, monitors student progress and learning, helps the lecturer to develop machine learning exercises, compiles lecture notes and prepares for distribution to students, leads development of the course to form a new colloquium at high schools. Astrophotography: Helps with planning and execution of the course, arranging field trips to Joshua Tree for sky photography at night, teaching students to perform astrophotography, assistance, and supervision, and advising with post-processing activities to generate pictures of the sky. This will be the first time this course will be given. Therefore, one needs to collect all the lectures and prepare a cookbook for instructions. Virtual Reality: Organizing and supervising students during the workshop. Evaluating student's progress in learning while enjoying the experience. Stargazing: Help in setting up the telescopes, arranging for students to visit and take part in the observing program, and organizing a picnic-like experience for students and their parents to enjoy this experience while learning. Providing nicely printed pictures taken by telescopes from the sky to give to the attendees. Drone Camp: Arranging for the workshop as well as the fieldwork. Assisting in the processing of the images taken by drones. Evaluating the progress and providing questionnaires regarding the evaluations.
The full salary range for the Academic Program Management Officer is $78,700.00 - $145,100 annually. However, the expected pay scale for this position is $78,700.00 - $92,000.00 annually. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.'
Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff.

Strong ability to think creatively and independently on concepts requiring advanced analytical skills.

Academic background and experience in selected area of research.
