JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:  The Academic and Evaluation Coordinator coordinates all academic activities for the BSN, DNP, PhD, and certificate programs and assessment and evaluation processes of the nursing programs of UTHSC College of Nursing (CON). This position oversees the evaluation plan for CON and initiates, assesses, conducts, and verifies continuous quality advancements. This position facilitates the process to determine the CON compliance with accreditation requirements for the assessment of the curriculum and program. This position is vital to ensuring CON meets and maintains all accreditation standards for all programs related to assessment and program review processes.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

  Academic Affairs 

  • Oversees process management of academic programs of CON in collaboration with the Executive Associate Dean for Academic Affairs.
  • Reviews and confirms student eligibility for BSN and DNP graduation/degree audits and resolves any discrepancies prior to CON commencement.
  • Oversees the transfer of credits for the CON programs in collaboration with the Executive Associate Dean for Academic Affairs.
  • Manages the complex Teaching Assignment Management System (TAMS).
  • Edits, updates, and maintains database of approved CON courses and plans of study approvals made in conjunction with the CON Curriculum Committee and Faculty.
  • Reviews existing college and institutional policies related to the academic programs annually and updates and edits the policies in collaboration with the Executive Associate Dean for Academic Affairs.
  • Develops and coordinates dissemination of academic affairs materials for students.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • CON Institutional Effectiveness

  • Oversees the CON Assessment and Master Evaluation Plan.
  • Develops methods to collect, analyze, and report data for external and internal (strategic planning/scorecard) dissemination.
  • Formulates, reviews, and updates assessment plan for the CON in collaboration with the Executive Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Evaluation committee.
  • Implements and oversees the data management in the CON.
  • Edits, updates, and maintains files of essential records for accreditation and prepares accreditation self-study documents for professional and regulatory bodies.
  • Identifies, coordinates, and supervises project-specific staff to produce mission-critical projects and reports.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

     

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: 

    EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree. (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)

    EXPERIENCE: Two (2) years of experience in an academic setting in higher education.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND ABILITIES:

    • Expert technical skills and typing skills.
    • Expert knowledge and skill in creating databases and primary files, managing data management systems, and using complex learning management systems.
    • Excellent skill in computer applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Qualtrics survey tools.
    • Ability to manage and create evaluation tools and processes for dissemination to faculty and students.
    • Knowledge of accreditation and regulatory processes across different accrediting agencies.
    • Ability to think critically, prioritize, problem solve, and multitask projects with tight deadlines.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Excellent customer service with the ability to use tact and discernment in communication with internal and external stakeholders.

    WORK SCHEDULE: This position may occasionally be required to work weekends and evenings.
