Job Summary:

Marist College invites applications for the part-time position of Academic Advisor. The Academic Advisor provides individualized academic guidance to undergraduate business students to enhance their educational opportunities and experiences at Marist College.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree required. Experience working with a diverse multicultural undergraduate population, preferably at the college level. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong written and spoken communication skills required. Must be student centered, flexible, patient, and a creative problem solver.

Essential Functions:

  • Assist students in planning and achieving their educational goals, advise on major and minor options, scheduling, course selections, study abroad, and other matters consistent with their academic interests and career goals
  • Interpret audits and program requirements
  • Participate in student-centered events
  • Monitor student progress toward program completion with a goal of on-time graduation.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with AppointmentPlus scheduling software and the DegreeWorks program.
