Franklin University has a full-time opening for an Academic Advisor-Re-Engagement. This undergraduate Re-Engagement Advisor/Generalist will be responsible for re-enrolling former students and advising the non-degree-seeking student caseload. Additionally, the Academic Advisor Re-Engagement will provide support, as needed, to the undergraduate Academic Advisors.  The position will engage with students to ensure a high-quality undergraduate student experience that sets students up for persistence and completion. The Academic Advisor Re-Engagement applies the core principles of the Student Engagement Lifecycle (SELC) and Academic Advising Model, best practices in the field, and emerging research and assessment to mentor undergraduate students in their academic planning and progress, career exploration and development, and personal growth and development. The Academic Advisor Re-Engagement will be expected to work actively in a team environment with students to enhance the undergraduate culture of the University.

This position will require a hybrid schedule to cover the priorities of the Department. A minimum of 2 days on campus are required while 3 working days per week may be remote. The Academic Advisor Re-Engagement will regularly work one evening per week until 7 p.m. and another until 6 p.m.  

We seek someone with a bachelor’s degree plus 1-3 years of academic advising experience.  A master’s degree in higher education, student affairs, adult learning, or closely related field and previous undergraduate student advising preferred.  A commitment to student-centered philosophy is expected. The selected individual will be goal and results driven, with an ability to function independently and collaboratively in a team environment; have excellent oral and written communication skills with ability to prioritize responsibilities and tasks; and have the ability to adapt to change and deliver and receive feedback.  

Preferred skills include someone with an understanding of retention and persistence metrics, student assessment, and their application to the decision-making process and experience with a CRM (Constituent Relationship Management System) tool and Ellucian Solutions.
