Job Description

The University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for two Academic Advisor 1 positions for the 2Nevada Transfer Center. These positions are located in Las Vegas, Nevada at one of the College of Southern Nevada (CSN) campuses.  This position is responsible for providing academic advising to prospective and incoming transfer students who are planning to transfer to the University of Nevada, Reno.

The Academic Advisor 1 provides expertise in core curriculum, major program requirements, participates in retention activities, and may be involved in recruitment events and other college-specific special projects assigned.  These positions will support CSN students who have a goal of a seamless transition to UNR, and ensure that the courses they take will lead to the appropriate majors.

Required Qualifications

A Bachelor’s Degree and two (2) years of related experience OR a Master’s Degree and one (1) year of related experience.

Related Experience: experience in a field related to academic advising or student services.

Grants-in-aid for Faculty Employees

Department Information

The 2Nevada Transfer Center is a brand new initiative from the University of Nevada, Reno.  This office will be working to improve the experience of Transfer Students and ensure a smooth application and incoming process.  This office will be a collaborative space that works closely with each college, admissions and records, as well as the office of prospective students to support the transition of transfer students.  The initial portion of this role will be to set this office up and get it settled across campus.
