Job Summary
The Academic Advising Center is seeking a highly organized and knowledgeable individual to join our team as a Campus-Wide Advisor Technology Coordinator. A successful candidate for this position will be passionate about on-going advising excellence and training new advisors in the profession. This role will be responsible for establishing campus-wide trainings for EAB Navigate U and for coordinating and implementing training programs for academic advisors across the University of Utah. We are looking for someone that can excite campus around best practices for integrating technology into academic advising.
EAB Navigate U is a comprehensive student success management system at the University of Utah. It’s designed to support students throughout their academic journey by providing tools for academic advising, student data, scheduling, and communication with staff and faculty. The platform utilizes data analytics to identify students who may be at risk, allowing institutions to intervene and provide targeted support. This individual will report to the Director of Campus-wide Advisor Training and Development and will work closely with Undergraduate Studies and the Academic Advising Standards Council (AASC) to identify timely and critical trainings in key areas such as: advisor technology (including EAB), advising campaigns and communication, and initiatives to operationalize a proactive advising approach for students at the University of Utah.
This individual will serve as the point-of-contact for student-facing questions about EAB and will serve as an advising representative for the integration of EAB Navigate U into academic advising at the university. Additionally, they will support the coordination and delivery of synchronous and asynchronous trainings for all advisors across campus. These trainings will provide the foundation of a new required onboarding for all academic advisors. As such, this position requires collaboration with staff in the colleges, departments, and campuswide partners, especially those working with student systems and technology.
In addition to programming and coordination, this individual will advise students from diverse backgrounds in areas such as academic standards, major exploration, degree completion, new student orientation advising, policies and procedures, General Education, and Baccalaureate Degree requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as point of contact for student-facing EAB Navigate U application questions and concerns
  • Collaborate with the Office of Orientation & Transition to introduce newly admitted students to Navigate U platform
  • Work with PeopleSoft and other student systems to ensure EAB data and information is accurately reported
  • Serve on Undergraduate Studies EAB Leadership committee as advising representative
  • Develop and implement ongoing EAB trainings (appointment campaigns, advisor notes, student reports, nudges, etc.) to ensure consistent and correct usage
  • Collaborate with the Director of Training and Development in creating materials, including manuals, presentations, and online resources, to support the training needs for campus wide advising
  • Coordinate training sessions and workshops for academic advisors, both in-person and online, ensuring effective delivery of content and fostering engagement and participation
  • Partner with Undergraduate Studies data analytics team to expand metrics used to evaluate training program impact on advisor success and retention
  • Work with campus partners, in both academic and student affairs, to develop high quality advisor education resources which may include foundational onboarding supports
  • Establish an EAB Navigate U Academic Advising Committee that helps support planning and decision making that impacts campus wide advisors
  • Advise undergraduate students from diverse backgrounds in areas including academic standards, major exploration and decision-making, degree completion, new student orientation advising, policies and procedures, general education
  • Participate in related professional development activities
  • Other duties as assigned which may include advising special populations, class presentations, assessment, internal and external committees
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience).
  • 4 years of direct academic advising experience.
  • Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills
