Job Description:

Extension- Serves as the program coordinator for Dr. O’Neal’s Extension Health and Wellness Programs. Activities as manager include: leading and/or attending weekly team meetings with faculty, students, and staff; managing IRB submissions and updates; working closely with community stakeholders and program participants to implement systems level supports for healthy lifestyles; leading program sustainability and dissemination efforts; collecting, managing and analyzing data; contributing to manuscript preparation and professional presentations. Supports Dr. O’Neal’s extension activities such as designing, developing, and implementing training and educational programs related to health and wellness.

Research- Serves as the research coordinator for Dr. O’Neal’s Research Programs. Activities as research coordinator include: leading weekly research team meetings with faculty and students; managing IRB submissions and updates; participating in research calls; facilitating focus groups, conducting semi-structured interviews, administering surveys in group settings, and other data collection activities; managing and analyzing research data; contributing to manuscript preparation and professional presentations. Supports Dr. O’Neal’s research activities such as designing, developing, and implementing research projects. Should be comfortable with data analysis software.

Travel- This position will require travel across the state for program related activities. Some travel out of state for meetings and conferences may be required.

Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Reporting- Maintains accurate data records, IRB records, and reports on different projects.  Submits reports on time for Supervisor or other designee. Should be comfortable using Microsoft Office Software.

Work Schedule- 40 hours, Monday through Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM. Due to the nature of this position, some early or late hours will be required. In addition, some overnight travel and participation in Extension community events on weekends may be required.

Commensurate with qualifications and education

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

A master’s degree in public health, health education and behavior, applied sociology, or a closely related discipline.

Ability to utilize statistical software to analyze data. Experience writing professional publications. Able to follow directions and complete reports. Ability to work both as a team and independently preferred.

Willingness and ability to travel independently.

Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
