Job Description:

This is a Federal Work-Study Student Assistant position with IFAS Facilities Planning and Operations, providing clerical support to the Warehouse Managers at UF Main Campus. 

Duties will include:


  • Efficiently load/unload materials following safety protocols 
  • Showcase strong organizational skills in warehouse management 
  • Perform detailed inventory assessments for shipped/received materials 
  • Accurately fulfill warehouse orders with precise material handling 
  • Apply proper labeling techniques to enhance material tracking 
  • Utilize technology for label creation, inventory tracking, and stock record-keeping 
  • Manage delivery/pickup of materials for warehouse/technicians 
  • Operate machinery (forklifts/tractors) proficiently or with a willingness to train 
  • Conduct inventory audits to maintain accurate stock levels 
  • Possess preferred knowledge of building repair and maintenance parts 
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills for collaborative work 
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment 
  • Focus on enhancing warehouse operations through process efficiency 
  • Identify and implement improvements creatively in areas of responsibility 
  • Attend to details in all warehouse tasks 
  • Exhibit physical capability to lift 50+ pounds 
  • Follow instructions diligently for a streamlined workflow 
  • Provide assistance and support to warehouse and maintenance specialists

Expected Salary:

$15 hourly, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Minimum Requirements:

This position is open to all students who are eligible to work on campus and will be employed through student Other Personnel Services (OPS) and must maintain a minimum 2.0 grade point average. Registered students are employed on a part-time basis, up to 20 hours per week.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Current studies in industrial engineering, project management, or construction.
  • Fluency with Microsoft Office Suite and email
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Motivated team player with an interest in advancement
  • Proficient in working with the Asset software system (MAXpanda) 
  • Possess professional and courteous customer service skills 
  • Collect data, including serial and model numbers, on assets throughout the Gainesville campus (AC units, fans, motors, water fountains, etc.) 
  • Collaborate effectively with peers, leadership, and faculty 
  • Plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments with efficiency
