Job Description:

Under the direction of the Video Production Services Manager in the College of Pharmacy, this position is primarily an AV/IT hardware specialist at the University of Florida’s main campus and at times at our campuses in Jacksonville and Lake Nona. This individual will be working with a team of professionals in an academic and teaching environment.

Job duties include:

  • IT/Audio/Video Technical Support: Installs, configures, and supports a variety of computer and AV technologies in classrooms and learning spaces. Evaluates equipment, components, hardware and software for use in moderately complex audio-visual spaces. Collaborates with other service teams to troubleshoot and resolve complex audio-visual problems and identify areas for process improvement. Follows up with customers and vendors to ensure smooth operations. May serve as on-call support as needed.
  • Video Conferencing/Classroom Monitoring: Monitor video conferencing setups and connections in any of the equipped rooms on Main Campus. Includes assistance, moderation, and coordination with live lectures, organizational presentations, and team-based learning sessions. Maintain operational control of Gainesville’s Flexible Learning Space (aka MDL) joining the College of Pharmacy’s three campuses in a virtual environment. MDL has multiple cameras, microphones, and computers that all need to be controlled simultaneously.
  • Provide Webinar, Zoom and Event Technical Support:  Includes assistance, moderation, monitoring and coordination with live lectures, organizational presentations, and team-based learning sessions. Provides technical support for events and classes for the College of Pharmacy which includes the Skills Lab and Room 1320.
  • Production: Schedule, record and edit recordings for College of Pharmacy faculty in the Video Production Group Studio. This includes coordinating with the distance campus video production teams, local and distance faculty as well as special lecturers for various groups and projects. Assist with setup and execution of various productions and events. 
  • Create detailed documentation including diagrams, manuals and troubleshooting guides.

Expected Salary:

Up to $60,000 annually

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Skilled and working knowledge of audio and video production software: Adobe Production Suite
  • Skilled and working knowledge of audio and video production hardware: Video cameras, microphones, and switching equipment
  • Skilled and working knowledge of conferencing software: Zoom, Adobe Connect and GoToMeeting
  • Ability to problem solve basic technical issues with Mac and PC
  • Familiar with video conference codecs
  • Advanced level of problem-solving skills
