Job Description:

The Department of Emergency Medicine is seeking a highly professional and experienced individual to take on the important role of Recruitment & Retention Manager. This position is responsible for managing and executing the administrative operations and special projects related to faculty and staff recruitment and retention. This crucial role provides important support for all aspects of recruitment. Additionally, the individual in this position will develop and implement programs to target individual and team development while improving overall retention. This position will have the exciting opportunity to evaluate new programming and existing efforts surrounding recruitment and retention.

Highlights for this role include:

  • Recruitment:
    • Follow national trend within the specialty and develop, manage, and implement competitive recruiting strategies.
    • Manage the administrative aspects of faculty recruitment processes.
    • Collaborate with hiring manager to facilitate a seamless recruitment experience for potential faculty members.
    • Provide crucial input on the re-design and facilitation of the department’s recruitment processes that support the goals of the department and the institution.
    • Develop metrics and outcomes to track implementation and outcomes from recruitment processes.
    • Collaborate with departmental leadership and content experts to ensure the implementation of fair and equitable recruitment practices.
  • Retention:
    • Collaborate with department leadership to develop and implement faculty remediation initiatives and plans related to academic and clinical performance and implement the Chair’s strategic plan to include succession planning execution and individualized faculty retention packages.
    • Maintains critical knowledge of core faculty development processes to enable facilitating programming and faculty advancement, resulting in retention.
    • Collaborate with leadership to create retention initiatives designed to enhance employee satisfaction, engagement, and long-term commitment to the institution.
  • Special Project Management:
    • Lead and execute special projects, including but not limited to, projects aimed at improving faculty recruitment, faculty retention, wellness programs, and other crucial projects in every mission for the department.
    • Lead and manage the research and analysis to provide recommendations for future projects focused on enhancing faculty recruitment, retention, and satisfaction.
    • Establish and maintain relationships with academic and clinical units and key partner groups to understand their needs, ensure alignment on objectives, and ensure ongoing buy-in across all project activities.

Expected Salary:

$65,000 - $70,000; commensurate with education and experience.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and three years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
