Job Description:

The Department of Pathology, Immunology and Laboratory Medicine at The University of Florida is seeking applicants for a full-time faculty position in the multi-mission track at the rank of Assistant Professor.  We are seeking candidates with a strong publication record and expertise in genomics, specifically related to immune function as well as target tissues in autoimmunity. 

It is expected that candidates will have published expertise in studies of single-cell RNA sequencing, single-nuclear RNA sequencing, and spatial RNA sequencing.  Additional expertise in CITE-Seq and immune cell receptor sequencing are preferred.  Applicants with experience in the translation of basic findings to pre-clinical or clinical products are highly desirable.  Expertise in data analysis and pipeline development for scaling of research studies is essential. 

The faculty member will be expected to sustain a recognized research program with externally sponsored research, maintain excellence in scholarship, and expand the University of Florida Diabetes Institute’s excellence in genomics.  It is also expected that the individual can build a collaborative local research network across the University of Florida College of Medicine and UF Health Science Center as well as nationally and internationally.  Applicants with established integration with networks analyzing human tissues (e.g., the Network for Pancreatic Organ donors with Diabetes (nPOD), the Human Biomolecular Atlas (HuBMAP) program, Human Islet Research Network (HIRN) are ideal. 

This position also requires that the candidate mentor PhD or MD/PhD students and participate in graduate education within the immunology or genetics curricula. This individual will play a leadership role in expanding the institutional center of excellence in immunology with clinical and preclinical research.

 

 

Expected Salary:

$109,730.00 annually

Minimum Requirements:

Applicants must possess a PhD and/or MD in an MD/PhD related field by the start date. Candidates are expected to demonstrate dedication to excellence in scholarly achievements as well as evidence of proposal writing, student mentoring, and classroom teaching in immunology or genetics.
