Job Description:

The Ranum lab in the Center for NeuroGenetics within the UF College of Medicine is seeking a highly motivated scientist to develop immunotherapy strategies for neurological diseases and to identify novel genes that cause neurological diseases development.

The candidate will perform research to identify and characterize novel ataxia genes caused by repeat expansion mutations. The position involves laboratory research, planning and executing experiments, writing reports and papers, participating in lab and Center meetings and presenting the research at meetings.

Expected Salary:

Annual salary range is $58,000 - $70,000 and is commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Minimum Requirements:

Ph.D. Degree

Preferred Qualifications: Preferred qualifications include expertise with RAN protein disorders, microscopy, IHC, IF and other histological methods as well as mouse behavior and preclinical mouse studies for drug development.
