Job Description:

This is a position located in the Transportation Technology Transfer Center (T2), affiliated with the UF Transportation Institute (UFTI) in the Engineering School of Sustainable Infrastructure and Environment (ESSIE).  The T2 Center houses the Florida Traffic Safety Resource Center (FTSRC) which aims to support the Florida Department of Transportation’s mission to promote safety on roadways through education. The individual is responsible for researching the education and other resource needs, procuring, managing inventory, fulfilling orders, leading the customer service effort, updating the website, and meeting the reporting requirements.


Grant Implementation Support:

•    Assist the Project manager to implement the grant tasks.

•    Assist in procuring, organizing, cataloging resources, materials, and preparing monthly reports.

•    Develop and maintain client records.

•    Establish and maintain professional network with grant stakeholders.

•    Responsible for customer service (phone calls, emails, and face-to-face meetings).

 

Inventory management, printing, and shipping:

•    Assist Project manager to receive, track, and fulfil orders in an efficient manner.

•    Manage inventory and replenish resources in a timely manner.

•    Work with multiple shipping vendors to fulfil orders.

•    Track and manage invoices and submit them to the project manager.

•    Manage bulk printer orders.

 

Auxiliary Program Support:

•    Serve as trainer for UFTI-T2 training and certification courses

•    Handle coordination for training activities including venues and equipment

•    Track and report on training outcomes

•    Manage client database, create, and follow up on training schedule

•    Manage in-house training facilities and equipment, and coordinate off-site training activities

 

Outreach:

•    Liaise with subject matter experts.

•    Deliver presentations at meetings and conferences to promote T2 training, resources, and projects.

•    Participate in outreach events and distribute traffic safety materials and fit bicycle helmets.


Expected Salary:

$45,000 - $50,000; commensurate with qualifications and experience

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Preference will be given to individuals that have experience with planning events and interacting with the public at events to gather and distribute information, experience working with database systems to process orders and update and track inventory.

KNOWLEDGE OF:  Techniques for effectively dealing with people, office procedures, fiscal procedures, research capabilities, including internet and traditional, correct grammar usage in written and verbal communication, database, word processing, spreadsheets and other various software, and web page development and maintenance tools. Knowledge of transportation engineering and traffic safety is a plus.

ABILITY TO:  Interact with people on first time basis and during continued association to create and maintain a positive impression of the Florida Transportation Technology Transfer (T2) Center and related programs.  Listen effectively; follow written and verbal instructions.  Plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.  Maintain quality, working relationships with all internal and external contacts and maintain hard copy client service files.  Demonstrate ability to understand and enthusiastically promote project programs.
