Job Description:
  • Accountant manages commitments for UF Research (RE) and the UF Research Foundation (UFRF). Tracks multi-year award programs for the full commitment lifecycle including project creation, funding transfers, extensions, expense reviews, and closures. Generates expired project listings and reconciles commitment balances on a monthly basis. Monitors and responds to incoming requests to the VPDSR email inbox daily.
  • Accountant reviews and approves myUF Market and UFGO submissions daily. Performs monthly reconciliations of RE accounts and enters journal corrections as needed.
  • Accountant manages cash-based funds including requests for new projects, extensions, modifications, closures, and combination codes. Monitors and responds to incoming requests in the IDC email inbox daily. Assists with annual F&A Return distribution cycle.
  • Accountant records UFRF revenue in the PeopleSoft (PS) System for License Income and Legal Reimbursements. Assists Accounting Manager and Finance Director with ad hoc projects and other duties as assigned.
Expected Salary:

Commensurate with Education, Experience, and Expertise.

Minimum Requirements: A bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of experience
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Critical thinking, demonstrated problem solving, and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    Proficiency in PeopleSoft, Enterprise Analytics, Microsoft Office applications, and Adobe Acrobat software preferred.
  • Ability to prioritize work assignments, effectively manage multiple tasks and time, make responsible decisions, work independently, analyze problems and implement solutions.
  • Practices excellent customer service, self-motivated, and has a superior attention to detail.
  • Experience managing multi-year award programs.
  • Experience preparing or auditing expense reconciliations at UF.
  • Understanding of UF’s purchasing, disbursement, and travel directives; internal controls at UF; and the F&A Cost Return & Use Policy.
