Job Description:

The Office of Sorority and Fraternity Life is seeking a motivated student assistant during the Summer 2024 term. This position is responsible for providing clerical and administrative support for Sorority and Fraternity Life. The Student Assistant will manage various information processes, collection, and filing systems, manage special projects, schedule meetings and covering phone lines, and provide customer service to students, staff, faculty, and others that interact with Sorority & Fraternity Life.

Essential Functions

 

  • Manage databases and information collection processes for Sorority and Fraternity Life, including information tracking
  • Manage hardcopy and electronic information for over 60 fraternities and sororities and the four governing Greek councils
  • Prepare correspondence and reports, including but not limited to coordination of student parking decals for in-house residents, Greek grade reports, and event calendars
  • Assist with facilitation of annual registration and subsequent update processes for fraternities and sororities
  • Maintain filing system for Sorority and Fraternity Life
  • Coordinate office mail as needed
  • Provide clerical support for Sorority and Fraternity Life such as, but not limited to: answering telephones, assisting office visitors, answering related questions, and providing departmental reception desk coverage as needed
  • Assist in coordination of campus and community events for Sorority and Fraternity Life such as Greek Awards Banquet, Greek Advance leadership retreat, etc. as needed
  • Assist constituent agencies, offices, and departments as appropriate
  • Provide assistance to prospective students and families during Preview days such as answering questions in office, via phone or at tabling events, etc. as needed
  • Other tasks as assigned

Human Resources Details

20-25 Hours/Week • Shifts available Monday – Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with the exception of observed University holidays and any reduced summer hours of operation.

Expected Salary:

$12.00/hour

Minimum Requirements:

This position is open to all students who are eligible to work on campus and will be employed through student Other Personnel Services (OPS) and must maintain a minimum 2.0 grade point average. Registered students are employed on a part-time basis, up to 20 hours per week.
