To co-manage and supervise the WMG Technical Services Team and provide support for Students, Academic staff and Industrial Collaborators with regards to research, teaching and events.

To provide leadership to the technical team and workshop users and ensure that health and safety procedures are observed. You will engage with technicians, academics, researchers, students and any other organisations as required.

You will be supervising the operation and maintenance of equipment such as machine tools, manual and CNC lathes, milling machines, 3D printers and ALM machinery. You assist on the design, manufacture and commissioning of specialised research and experimental apparatus and equipment.

We will consider applications for employment on a part-time or other flexible working basis, even where a position is advertised as full-time, unless there are operational or other objective reasons why it is not possible to do so. 

About You

You will need to have successfully completed an engineering apprenticeship or HNC/ONC in Engineering or hold a similar qualification, along with relevant supervisory experience in a related engineering discipline / environment.
