We are seeking a creative, enthusiastic, compassionate and well-organised individual with experience in training delivery and student support and wellbeing to join the Researcher Academy as Postgraduate Researcher (PGR) Welfare and Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Officer. 

Working within the Researcher Academy, the PGR Welfare and EDI Officer will be responsible for a combination of project management, policy and process development and advocacy related to institutional and programme-level PGR focussed welfare and EDI issues.  

The role holder will take responsibility for the development and delivery of welfare services within the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council Doctoral Training Partnership (BBSRC DTP), supporting welfare and EDI projects on this large interdisciplinary and cross-institutional PhD programme. They will deliver an efficient, effective and informed pastoral support service to BBSRC DTP PGRs, particularly focusing on the development and delivery of EDI and welfare focused training for PGRs and supervisors, providing support to students on placement, and provide advice to academic supervisors and other staff involved in supporting DTP students in relation to pastoral support. They will ensure that all students have access to equitable levels of high-quality pastoral support.  

The post-holder will also act as the project officer leading institutional-level activities to support wider PGR welfare and EDI issues and policy development.  This will include management of the Adapt Together Peer Mentoring Programme and chairing the PGR Wellbeing Task and Finish Group.

This is a fixed term, full-time post (36.25 hours) offered on fixed term contract until 31 July 2025. Hours of work are full-time (36.25 hours per week) ; however applications are also welcome from candidates wishing to work part-time (minimum 29 hours per week). Please specify in your application if you wish to work part time and the number of preferred hours. Job share arrangements may be considered.
