Your personal sphere of influence:

As university assistant prae doc at the Department of Contemporary History, you actively participate in research, teaching and administration of the Department and especially in the activities of the Chair of Cultural History, History of Knowledge and Gender History.

Your future tasks:

You actively participate in research, teaching & administration, which means:

  • Holding classes (due to extent regulations of wage agreement) independently for Bachelor, Master and Teachers` Diploma on the basis of the current wage agreement in force at the university.
  • Collaboration in the editing or publication of scientific publications and other activities of the Department and the Chair of Contemporary History .
  • Assistance with events in the area of the professorship, university administrative matters and teaching organization.
  • Further academic qualification (dissertation, publications, participation in conferences, etc.).

This is part of your personality:​​​​

  • Successfully completed Diploma or Master Study in History or Cultural Studies.
  • Professional, provable competence in gender and queer history of the 20th century (i.e. a very good master/diploma thesis focused on these topics or publications) and a doctoral thesis concept in the field of contemporary gender history in the European context, desirably with a thematic focus on transnational networking processes, preferably between Eastern and Western Europe, and an interest in perspectives on the history of knowledge.
  • The successful candidate is able to assist in communicating research results into the public.
  • Excellent team work skills and ability for organizational tasks.
  • Excellent knowledge of German and English, good knowledge in a Slavic language
  • IT skills

Fair salary: The basic salary of EUR 3277,30 (on a full-time basis) increases if we can credit professional experience (see collective bargaining agreement).

The employment relationship is initially limited to 1.5 years and is automatically extended to a total of 4 years, unless the employer submits a declaration of non-renewal after a maximum of 12 months.
