TSS Support Worker

The Wellbeing Directorate seeks to appoint a number of part-time, flexible Campus Inclusion Assistants on a casual basis as part of our delivery of student support (starting in September 2024).

The Directorate aims to enhance the student experience through the provision of high quality advice, guidance and support to students of the University, placing service excellence at the core of its activity through a team of highly motivated, professional people. Comprising a variety of teams geared to support students, Wellbeing places student achievement and retention at the core of its business and seeks to take a proactive and innovative approach to the activities offered as part of its core business delivery.

Under the direction of the Disability Inclusion Team supported by a Support Worker Administrator, the Campus Inclusion Assistant will be involved in providing practical support to students on campus. Campus Inclusion Assistants and Support Workers play an important role in creating an accessible and inclusive environment for disabled students and students with health conditions and is a great opportunity to promote inclusion within the student population. Disabled students are more likely to be underrepresented in higher education and can face different barriers to accessing and succeeding in their studies. Alongside this, if you have first-hand experience of studying as a disabled student, your knowledge and lived experience could be beneficial for this role.

Staff Development is an integral aspect of supporting staff to deliver services of the highest possible professional standards. The post-holder must be able to deal confidently and effectively with a range of people displaying a professional, non-judgmental and helpful attitude and handling highly confidential matters in a sensitive manner.
