Located in London at the heart of the global music industry the Institute for Contemporary Music Performance (ICMP) has been developing and delivering contemporary music education for over 30 years – longer than any other music school in the UK.

We are seeking an experienced learning technologist to join us and help deliver the next stage of development in our technology enhanced learning capability and practice. E-learning, online learning, blended learning, and the integration of digital platforms into the learning experience are central to ICMP.

You will work closely as part of Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL) team with programme leaders, module leaders and tutors to ensure that ICMP remains at the cutting edge of enhancing the student experience with digital technologies.

You will provide expert advice and guidance to academic and professional staff in the use of digital learning technologies, and will work collaboratively on projects to help deliver digital education priorities.

Main duties of the post.

  • To be a Canvas super admin, providing guidance on technical aspects of the platform
  • Maintaining user account integration and assisting with managing the course lifecycle on Canvas and its content
  • Upkeep of the portal functionality, service upgrades and third party integrations.
  • Maintain the high levels of up-time for the service and resolve issues effectively and promptly.

Main personal qualities, experience and skills required for the post.

Knowledge and Experience

  • A strong expertise in Canvas (or equivalent LMS), plagiarism detection software and video content management systems
  • Experience of developing digital materials working for, or in partnership with, Higher Education institution and the delivery of teaching and learning resources
  • Experience of extracting data and analysing learner analytics (desirable)
  • Technical capability in the use of LMS plugins e.g. Cidilabs DesignPlus, Impact by Instructure (desirable)
  • Intermediate level integration of LTI packages, and to third party systems (desirable)

Qualifications / Training

  • Educated to at least undergraduate degree level with a Master’s degree in associated subject (desirable)

This is a remote working role. Additionally hybrid working can be accommodated and specific arrangements will be agreed with the successful candidate before their start date. Regardless of where colleagues are working, AD Education premises will be their primary and contractual place of work.
