Applications are invited for the post of Technician in the Department of Electronic Engineering.

We are looking for an experienced technician to join our technical team of four staff. This vacancy  is a permanent replacement post. The post holder will report to the Technical Operations Manager and work with the Technical Lead and the Teaching Technician. 

Specific tasks vary throughout the academic year and are outlined in the Job Description. This post is required to support both undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, along with support for academic research.

You will be a confident and experienced technician with effective oral and written communications skills. You will have experience of managing equipment and resources and should be comfortable working in a team. Circuit design, computer software and hardware experience would be advantageous along with general fabrication skills such as 3D printing, laser cutting, workshop and CAD work.

Previous experience in education will be an advantage although this job would also be of interest to somebody who has previously worked as a technician in other areas, especially electronics. You need to be adaptable, patient and a good time manager.
