Warsash Maritime School is home to one of the world’s leading institutions offering maritime education, training, research and consultancy to the marine/maritime industry and within the school we are particularly proud of the heritage of our cadet and officer education and training.

The school is looking to appoint an experienced technician instructor on a full-time basis to support with the practical education and training of mechanical, electrical and electronic engineering officer cadets.

For this role the successful applicant must demonstrate a good working knowledge of a wide range of mechanical, electrical and electronic skills required for cadets embarking on a career in the merchant navy. In particular you should have a working knowledge of maintaining Diesel engines, Refrigeration plant, Hydraulic plant Deck equipment, Electrical Generation and distribution, Electric Motor control and maintenance, Sewage Plant, Fresh Water plant, Steam.

You should be aware and have an appreciation of the technical learning requirements of the UK engineering cadet programme as documented by the MCA and MNTB.

Teaching and instructional experience in mechanical and/or electrical and electronic engineering is desirable with a detailed understanding of a wide range of topic areas in this field. 

You should have a real passion for teaching and supporting cadets on their learning journey.
