Team Administrator - Scientific Operations

Salary range: £24,589 to £30,995pa depending on experience

We are seeking a proactive and motivated Administrator to provide administrative support to Senior Managers. You will provide diary management, support to meetings, travel organisation and help in the delivery of team objectives.

The role will involve delivering a high-level day-to-day administrative support, and the post holder will be methodical and well organised.  They will have the ability to prioritise workloads in a challenging and busy working environment and will need to be flexible and have a positive approach.


Essential Skills
  • A high level of confidence and ability in communicating - in writing, on the telephone in person, with internal and external callers and visitors
  • A pro-active approach to supportively managing aspects of senior members of staff, in order to support their successful function
  • Proficient in the use of office technologies i.e. Microsoft Office applications, internet usage for background research, etc.
  • Ability to organise and prioritise own workload.
  • Ability to develop collaborative working relationships with team members, institute staff and a variety of external contacts.
  • A flexible approach and ability to manage priorities and to respond to changes in workload at short notice

Ideal Skills
  • Previous experience in coordinating projects
  • Visio skills

The Sanger Institute is a charitably funded research centre focused on understanding the role of genetics in health and disease. We use state of the art large-scale genomic approaches to drive world-leading projects to uncover the basis of genetic and infectious disease.
