The School of Health and Care delivers an extensive range of undergraduate and post graduate courses for professionals working in health and social care settings alongside a large portfolio of CPD courses including Advanced Clinical Practice, Independent prescribing and Global Healthcare Management

The Role

As Teaching Fellow in Occupational Therapy you will undertake teaching and course co-ordination while supporting the development and delivery of undergraduate, postgraduate, and professional programs ensuring students have an effective learning experience.

You will work closely with academic colleagues to enrich student learning, ensuring relevant aspects of research, enterprise and professional context are embedded in modules and courses.

Duties include:

  • Teach on modules and courses for Occupational Therapy including curation, adaptation and creation of module teaching materials, delivering a variety of learning sessions and supporting learners through informal and formal communication.
  • Contribute to the course assessment including practice based learning.
  • Work collaboratively with Course Teams bringing together creative and innovative approaches to the design and delivery of Occupational Therapy Education.

Qualifications Required

  • Master’s degree in appropriate subject or Honours Degree with appropriate professional qualification or membership
  • HCPC occupational therapy registrant
  • Teaching qualification or willingness to acquire one.
  • Active membership of an appropriate professional body is advantageous

You will have demonstrable experience of successful teaching within Occupational Therapy Practice including practice based learning and informal settings with high standards of teaching, learning and student engagement.

Enthusiastic and self-motivated, you will have experience supporting, enhancing and engaging in an ‘active learning’ pedagogy with evidence in proactively supporting success in learning.
