Funded externally by the Friends of Cruickshank Botanic Garden, the Estates & Facilities Section is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to assist in the maintenance of Cruickshank Botanic Garden. Working 36.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday for a period of 14 weeks from Monday 3 June to Friday 6 September 2024. Successful candidates will be provided with a uniform, protective clothing and relevant training in order to carry out their duties.

The successful candidate will be required to undertake all aspects of garden maintenance during the height of the growing season. Using a range of hand tools, duties will include edging, weeding, watering, pruning, nursery work and assisting with public engagement events.

This post would ideally suit an individual with a horticultural background. Previous experience is desirable.

The role will form part of the Estates and Facilities Section, which is part of the University’s Professional Services. With approximately 1,200 staff, Professional Services consists of student and academic focused areas, as well as providing corporate support.

Salary will be at the appropriate point on Grade 1,  £21,713 per annum, pro rata.
