The University of Surrey is seeking a highly motivated and organised individual to join our Doctoral College team on a 0.5 FTE basis as a Studentships and Internships Administrator. The postholder will play a pivotal role in providing exceptional administrative support to the Doctoral College, ensuring the smooth running of the studentship and internships programmes, and contributing to the positive experience of our postgraduate researchers (PGRs).

The successful candidate will:

  • Seamlessly support the delivery of the end-to-end lifecycle of studentships, studentship-related competitions, and internship programmes
  • Develop and document clear standard operating procedures for the different funding competitions, ensuring a standard process is followed where possible
  • Collect and respond to feedback about competitions and contribute ideas for improvements
  • Maintain accurate records for internal and external reporting
  • Process routine financial transactions for the Doctoral College
  • Regularly review content on the Doctoral College webpages and assist in the refresh of new informative and engaging content
  • Act as a key ambassador for the Doctoral College when communicating with the wider university community

About you

We’re looking for an experienced administrator, with proven experience in providing high-quality administrative support. Demonstrating excellent accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to work to deadlines, you will also be comfortable working independently in relation to less routine activities. You’ll have excellent IT skills, particularly in MS Office packages, and will have strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to deliver a service that impacts multiple key stakeholders.

Experience working with stakeholder/end user feedback to improve services and/or knowledge of the PGR landscape would also be advantageous.
