The Role and the Department
The Directorate brings together pan-institution specialist student support services within the Colleges and Wider Student Experience Division and incorporates the Student Support and Wellbeing Office, Counselling and Mental Health Service, the Disability Support Service and the Student Conduct Office.
We are seeking to recruit a systems administrator to support the work of the Student Support and Wellbeing Office. The office has three key functions:
- To provide leadership for the pan-University SSW services that are delivered by Colleges and Academic Departments, ensuring these work effectively with the Student Support services within the SSW Directorate. This includes development and support of the University’s Student Support Information Management IT system (SSIMS).
- To provide leadership and oversight of the University’s work in relation to student health and proactive wellbeing including the delivery of faith support;
- To provide fixed-term resource for core student support teams in Colleges and Faculties/Academic Departments.
The postholder will be trained as a super-user of our Student Support Information Management System (SSIMS) working alongside the SSIMS Senior Manager supporting the delivery and creation of training for SSIMS users, triaging system queries, maintaining user access, system configuration changes, managing and creating user dashboards and running reports to help inform strategy. An interest in and aptitude for understanding and working with digital systems is therefore desirable for this role.
The postholder will also provide general administrative support to the Student Support and Wellbeing Functional Leadership team that sits within the Student Support and Wellbeing Office. Day to day activities will include diary management, organising meetings and events, triaging inbox requests, supporting the team with communications and engagement with students and support staff on the University’s support and wellbeing services and creating and maintaining content on our SharePoint and Web platforms.
What you are required to submit:
- A CV
- A covering letter which details your experience, strengths and potential in the requirements set out in the essential criteria;
- A word document with detailed examples of how you satisfy each of the essential and desirable criteria within the skills and experience section. Please bullet point your answers in the same order as in the essential criteria.
