This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced support and guidance professional to join the University of Bradford to lead our Student Life Team, working to deliver exceptional student support to our diverse student community.

Our Student Life Team is responsible for providing high quality advice, guidance, and support on a range of money and pastoral matters. The team’s caseload is varied, stimulating, and involves supporting students on a wide range of financial matters including providing advice on student funding, assessing applications for hardship support, providing guidance on welfare benefits, and supporting our students to develop their financial capability skills. The Student Life Team also provides support with a range of pastoral issues such as domestic violence, forced marriage, homelessness, and other broader welfare issues.

The Student Life Manager will be responsible for leading our Student Life Advisers to ensure the team provides comprehensive and effective sector leading support to our students. They will oversee the disbursement of hardship and other discretionary support to students, ensuring fair and robust processes and procedures are implemented and monitored, along with overseeing the creation and delivery of the institution’s financial capability strategy, including specific cost of living initiatives. They will also lead and oversee effective processes, procedures and wider initiatives pertaining to welfare support, including, but not limited to homelessness, domestic abuse and forced marriage.
