This is a fabulous opportunity to shape the story of how creative industries innovate in future technologies, from generative AI to immersive experiences to Realtime networked interaction. This role will devise and implement an impact and evaluation framework for capturing. You will be working with world-leading creative companies – from Pinewood to BT to disguise to thousands of cutting-edge UK SMEs – bringing excellent communication and analysis skills to help turn innovation into impact: from economic and public value through to audience experience and company growth. 

The Impact & Evaluation Lead is at the heart of where creative industries, research and R&D funding come together – playing a key role in developing frameworks for understanding the outcomes and benefits of collaboration, helping to broker relationships and briefing government, industry and a wide-array of stakeholders on the impact CoSTAR will have on the creative sector. 

You will work in a creative, inclusive and dynamic environment based in the StoryFutures Unit at Royal Holloway, University of London where you will work with the leadership team to develop impact and evaluation strategy and be responsible for day to day implementation and delivery of that framework.

About the National R&D Lab:  CoSTAR National Lab for R&D in Creative Technology is the largest ever investment in creative industries R&D in UK history: a £51.1m programme led by Royal Holloway, University of London to develop a National R&D Lab for creative technologies to ensure the UK’s screen and performance industries have the and innovation infrastructure to compete globally. What You Will Be Doing: 

  • Create and maintain key project documentation 
  • Strategic planning and collaborative problem solving. 
  • Managing and delivering reports to funders, industry and government.
  • Develop relationships with creative industries and the new CoSTAR network. 

You should apply if you:

  • Love working with quantitative and/or qualitative methods to bring stories of impact to life.  
  • Have a proven track record of working in an evaluation and/or policy context, such as writing policy briefings/white papers, managing data 
  • Have excellent communication skills. 
  • Have a positive ‘can do’ attitude, work well in a team, pro-active and self-confident.  Be used to working under high levels of independence and responsibility.

This is a full time, permanent role available from 1st March 2024. This post is based in Egham, Surrey, but with the expectation of significant working time at the National Lab which is being built in the region and some national travel expected. The successful applicant will spend significant time liaising with partners across the UK. An attractive relocation package is available.
