About the role

The role leads and directs the Special Collections and Archives team, who maintain stewardship of a growing number of special collections and archives which reflect Goldsmith's research activities; including, the Goldsmiths Textile Collection and Constance Howard Gallery, the Daphne Oram Collection and the Women's Art Library.

This role involves working with physical library collections and archives, and requires on-site working. Hybrid working is available, with our current expectation (subject to ongoing review) of three days on-site working per week.


About the candidate

We are looking for an outstanding candidate to lead, motivate and direct the Special Collections and Archives team across Goldsmiths Library and Constance Howard Gallery. You will maintain and develop the service according to best practice for current and future researchers, academics and students and art practitioners, ensuring its integration into academic life.

You will play a vital role in providing access to the Library's special collections and archival holdings as well as preserving and promoting them, supporting teaching, learning and research at Goldsmiths. You will work alongside the Library team to launch a collection development policy in line with the Library framework as well as the institution's changing needs and priorities.
